Tutorials
How Do I Chat or Send Messages?
The new IMO Forums support a messaging system that allows users to send private messages to other users. When to people begin a conversation through this system, they can choose to turn the message into a private, real-time chat session.
Go to the messages link in your navigation. You may send a message or view messages from this panel.

If you're viewing messages, you may click the link "Open as Chat' to continue the conversation in a real-time chat window.

If you want to send a message, simply click "Write New Message" and fill in the fields appropriately.

You may send a message to multiple users. Once a message is sent, you may open it as a chat.
You must have JavaScript enabled to use the IMO chat features.
How Do I Contact a Moderator?
There are a few ways to contact a moderator.
Messages - You may send a moderator a message. You may find a list of our moderators here.
Site-wide Contact - You may reach support staff, moderators and administrators through the site-wide Contact page.
Individual Contact - You may send a moderator a note through their contact form, which can be found in their profile page.
Threads - If all else fails, and you are unable to reach a moderator through the aforementioned methods, you can try to reach a moderator through threads. The moderators are comprised of committed members of the community, and may often be reached through the very forums they keep running.
How Do I Post a New Thread?
To post a thread, visit the forum where you'd like to start your conversation. Click the button marked, "Post New Forum Topic."

Once you click the button, you will be taken to an input screen.

You must fill in a Subject and Body. You may choose to add smileys using the smiley menu below the post text.

If you wish to see your post before you commit to submitting it, click "preview," otherwise just hit Post.
How Do I Post a Poll?
Posting a poll is similar to posting a thread. Visit the forum you wish to post a poll in. Find and click the button marked "Create New Poll."

You will be directed to a new screen.

Fill in your question and the choices people may choose from.
If at this point you realize you've selected the wrong forum, you may choose a different forum to post your poll by using the drop down menu.
The poll's creator (as well as moderators) may also choose to close the poll, and edit the duration of the poll.

When logged in, every page should be a link called "My Account." Click that link to visit your profile. From there, click the choice titled "Edit" next to your name. You should see four tabs, Account, Contact, Outdoors, and Personal. You may modify information in each of those tabs.
To set your signature, scroll down until you see the box labeled "Signature." Anything you put into that box will appear at the bottom of any post.
To choose an avatar, scroll down to the area marked "Picture.' You will have the option to select a built-in avatar or upload your own.
Problems
Help, my password doesn't work!
If your password isn't working, try requesting a new password. Enter your user name or password into the text field, and hit submit. You will be sent an email which will allow you to log in and change your password.

Once you've successfully logged in, change your password immediately.
The Forums told me an email was being sent to me, but it never came. What do I do?
First, check your spam folder. On rare occasions, legitimate email will get directed to your spam folder by whatever filtering system your email provider uses to keep unwanted email out.
You can prevent this by adding the email address noreply@forums.huntingmag.com to your safe senders list.
Failing that, feel free to contact a moderator or administrator.
